Swedish singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Emil Svanängen, aka Loney Dear has drawn some big comparisons with his latest disc, Dear John. The richly textured, and atmospheric new work has drawn comparisons to the likes of Sufjan Stevens and fellow Swede, Jens Lekman. The praise is all well deserved, as 'Dear John' features some truly brilliant tracks including, "Airport Surroundings", "Everything Turns to You" and "Violent", the latter two of which appear on a recent live session for the website Daytrotter that LD recently did, along with 2 other tracks. To get a taste of Loney Dear for yourself, the 4 tracks in total are all available as a free download if you just click here. Loney Dear is currently out on tour in support of 'Dear John' across Europe, with dates to follow in the US in May.
