I didn't know too much about the Bowerbirds besides their track "In Our Talons" before I saw them open up for Bon Iver at a show last year. The quiet North Carolina three piece impressed with their Americana driven, nu-folk sound, and made me want to check out more of their work from their debut album, Hymns for a Dark Horse which came out in in 2007. After some long tours with the aforementioned Bon Iver and also with The Mountaingoats, the trio headed back into the studio and are now ready with their sophomore disc, Upper Air which hits stores this July 7, on Dead Oceans. Prior to the albums release the band is heading out on the road, both in North America and Europe, with new dates just announced. Check below for the details.
