The Kindness Kind were tabbed as one of Seattle's best new bands back in 2007, when their debut disc A Novel came out to strong reviews and charted on the CMJ college music rankings. The band released their latest self-titled sophomore LP just this week, which saw them working again with producer Lucas Carlyle (The Gossip, The Album Leaf). The new disc is a powerful mix of indie pop/rock infused songs that are crafted around frontwoman Alessandra Rose’s powerful vocals. Where the last album may have been more shoegaze and ambient sounding, the new disc sees the group more aggressive and guitar driven with heavy sonic walls of sound. The group, who have toured in the past with bands such as The Most Serene Republic and Darker My Love, plan to finish out 2008 on a bief Northwest tour, with a larger jaunt on the West Coast scheduled for early 2009.
