With an Oscar now in their back pocket, the duo of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, The Swell Season, are readying their follow up to their critically acclaimed soundtrack for the movie, 'Once'. The new 12 song LP, titled, Strict Joy hits store shelves on Sept 29 on Anti- Records, and was co-produced by Hansard and hot producer, Peter Katis, who seems to be everywhere lately (The National, Frightened Rabbit, Fanfarlo), with recording taking place at Katis’ Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, CT. In addition to the pair, the album features Hansards Frames bandmates Colm Mac Iomaire (violin), Joe Doyle (bass), Rob Bochnik (guitar), Graham Hopkins (percussion) plus guitarist Javier Mas (Leonard Cohen), and pianist Thomas Bartlett (Doveman) among the group.
