I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow Langhorne Slim is a guy that had really slipped under my radar with his first two albums. Luckily I woke up and took notice with his newest disc, Be Set Free, and it's been on heavy rotation ever since. Slim wears his heart on his sleeve on the new disc, weaving warm Americana inspired tunes underlyrics of life, love and loss, with an overall upbeat tempo with hints of gospel.
Going back and looking at Slim's past work, this seems to be his most focused and complete work yet. Over the past few weeks we've highlighted the standout tracks 'Back To the Wild", "Say Yes", and "I Love You But Goodbye", but this week we want you to hear the title track, "Be Set Free."
