the Afghan Whigs: tribute disc on the way

One of my favorite bands from the 90's, the The Afghan Whigs will be getting a tribute album this June 23rd. The album will see tracks tackled by Whigs collaborators and friends like, Joseph Arthur, Jeff Klein (My Jerusalem), Gutter Twins mate, Mark Lanegan and Matthew Ryan among others. You can get the full tracklisting and previews over at summerskissrecords.com.
The underlooked group's catalogue included the brilliant 1996 disc, Black Love, Gentlemen in '93, and their last album that came out in '98 titled, 1965. Frontman Greg Dulli later went on to form, The Twilight Singers and his latest project, The Gutter Twins with Mark Lanegan.
