Andrew Kenny, formerly of the American Analog Set, is readying his latest project, The Wooden Birds. The bands first album, Magnolia, will be released this Spring on Barsuk Records, whom the band just signed on with. In Europe the LP will get released on Morr Music. According to Barsuk ..."Fans of AmAnSet will recognize Kenny's voice and songwriting immediately, but the arrangements on Magnolia are more vocal and percussion-heavy than anything he's done before."Kenny, who originally grew up in Texas and later moved to Brooklyn, has returned to Austin, TX for The Wooden Birds project. Kenny has made guest appearances on albums by, the Album Leaf, Her Space Holiday, Styrofoam, and most recently the Broken Social Scene.
The Wooden Birds will be touring throughout the year, and will be making an appearance at South By Southwest this coming March.
