Black Keys singer ready for Solo debut

The Black Keys singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach has recorded five critically acclaimed albums for the rock duo. Now Auerbach is about to embark on a journey of his own, with his first solo project, the new 14 track Keep It Hid, which comes out this Feb 10th. On the disc, Auerbach is said to have gone in a more expansive direction, working with a full band and handling a wide variety of instruments himself. The album includes cameos from some of Auerbach's friends and family, including his father Chuck, who wrote the song "Whispered Words," his uncle James Quine sings and plays guitar on "Street Walkin'" and protege Jessica Lea Mayfield, who's album With Blasphemy, So Heartfelt he produced, accompanies him on "When the Night Comes." You can currently check out three of the albums tracks over on his myspace.
Auerbach will also be heading out on his first solo national tour, beginning next month, backed by Hacienda, an Austin based band that he’s long admired, who will also serve as support act, along with Those Darlins.
