Mumford & Sons getting U.S. release

The UK folk scene has really blown up the last few years, seeing breakouts from the likes of Laura Marling, Johnny Flynn, and Noah and the Whale to name a few. Coming from that same group of performers and friends is the group, Mumford & Sons. The band made a splash in '09 with their debut disc, Sigh No More , which ranked high across British critics’ best of 2009 lists, and now the band will see the physical release of the album here in the States on Feb. 16. Mumford & Sons will be hitting the road in a few major cities across the U.S. that same week.
In other band news, Winston Marshall (vocals, banjo) is currently in the studio with members of Keane, Noah and the Whale and The Long Winters’ John Roderick, recording as a new project called, Mt. Desolation, no word as of yet as to a future release date.
