The Damnwells: Free Album download

The Alex Dezen led project, known as The Damnwells, have offered up their latest CD, One Last Century for free via a special offer over at Paste Magazine. The band which has had some line-up re-shuffling, has been quiet for the past several years since 2006's 'Air Stereo'. The reason for the free download according to Dezen goes like this ..." I suppose the hardest thing to explain to people is why I’m giving this record away".... later adding ...“I have never worked so hard or put so much of myself into a collection of recorded songs. It is for just this reason that I want to give it away. To me it makes perfect sense. I just want people to hear this music, and I don’t want them to have to enter into some kind of contractual agreement with a third party to do so.

The Damnwells - New album update

The Damnwells who we last heard from in 2006 with Air Stereo are moving along on putting together their next album. Lead singer Alex has been in the studio in Oxford, MS at Tweed Recording & the band says that the new tracks are being mixed this week in Nashville, TN. In the meantime, to hold you over you can hear two new acoustic demo's from the band "Down With The Ship" and "The Bastard of Midnight" on their myspace.
