'Song of the Week': Phantogram- "Mouthful of Diamonds"

Generating a huge amount of buzz of their 2009 5 song EP, this Upstate NY duo just released their debut full length titled, Eyelid Movies last month on Barsuk. Having formed in just 2007, guitarist Joshua Carter and keyboardist Sarah Barthel have rose quick, with their brand of layered electronica & addictive funky beats, which have helped the band open up for acts like, Zero 7, Ra Ra Riot and Yeasayer within the last few years.
Take a listen to the album track " Mouthful of Diamonds" and see why this band has been tabbed as a band to watch in 2010.

Song of the Week- Phantogram- "When I'm Small"

This Upstate NY duo has been appearing on a few 'bands to watch' lists for 2010 so I thought I would give them a listen. Phantogram, who hail from Saratoga Springs, created some good buzz in '09 with their 5 song self titled EP, and plans are for their debut album, Eyelid Movies , to come out this February 9.
The duo is Josh Carter (guitar) and Sarah Barthel (keyboard) who were childhood friends but didn't start collaborating musically until 2007. Led by their dreamy synths and heavy beats the band has gotten to share the stage with bands like Ra Ra Riot, Yeasayer, and The Noisettes.
Check out "'When I'm Small" off their self titled EP below.
