Liam Finn releasing new EP

2008 was a breakthrough year for New Zealand singer/songwriter Liam Finn, who happens to be the son of Crowded House's Neil Finn. Finn dropped his eclectic debut, I'll Be Lightning, which saw him taking on most of the instruments and recording himself. For the new 5 song EP, Champagne In Seashells, due out on September 1 via Yep Roc, Finn enlists the help of tour mate and friend, Eliza-Jane Barnes, who if you saw Finn play live, she played with him on most of the dates.
Finn, who also toured alongside the likes of Eddie Vedder, and the Black Keys last year, should be announcing more dates soon, as well as news on a new full-length that is scheduled for release sometime next year.

Our 'Liner Notes' video interview w/Liam Finn

Here's the latest in our 'Liner Notes' interview series. This time we sit down with New Zealand's own Liam Finn. The son of Crowded House singer Neil Finn, Liam released his debut solo LP, I'll Be Lightning this year which featured the brilliant psych-rock tracks, "Second Chance" and "Better To Be." Liam chats about going solo from his band Betchapuda, recording the new disc, and his love of the drums.

This weeks choice for 'song of the week' comes from New Zealand's Liam Finn. Son to Neil Finn of Crowded House fame, Liam's fantastic disc I'll Be Lightning came out in early 2008, with the multi-talented Finn playing nearly every instrument on the album. Liam's latest track "Better To Be" will be coming out as his new single in the UK, while the haunting film noir style video directed by Marc Swadel has been out there for some time. It still gets our nod for 'song of the week' this week.

Liam Finn hitting the road w/ Eddie Vedder

New Zealand's Liam Finn (son of Crowded Houses Neil Finn) has just announced some added tour dates in the US opening for Pearl Jams Eddie Vedder. Finn has been on the road for much of 2007 & '08 in support of his outstanding debut disc, I'll Be Lightning . Currently Finn is playing solo gigs across the UK that run till the end of July, and after that he'll hit the road with Vedder.
